Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM) has significant effect on biological activity and photochemical reactions in aquatic ecosystems. It was examined using fluorescence spectra from fourteen Pomeranian Lakes (North Poland). For our research we have chosen lakes with diverse trophicity: oligotrophic, mesotrophic, eutrophic and humic lakes. Measurements were conducted empirically in ice-free season in year 2009 and 2010 and in that period over 100 samples collected in the subsurface water (20 cm deep layer) were examined. These preliminary results has shown high variability in concentration and composition of Dissolved Organic Matter. This research needs to be continued and developed.
