The MIPAS2D database has been developed applying the tomographic analysis technique GMTR to the measurements acquired in nominal observation mode of the complete MIPAS mission. The GMTR technique enables to obtain the vertical distribution of a variety of atmospheric trace gases on a fixed altitude latitude grid. The validation exercise of the database is on-going. In this work we report the results of the inter-comparison of the MIPAS2D data with MLS and ACE-FTS data for Temperature and target atmospheric species common to the three instruments. While most of the considered species are diurnallly stable molecules, and therefore they are easily comparable with correlative measurements, nitrogen oxides concentrations show diurnal variability, therefore the validation results are highly dependent from the acquisition time of the three satellite instruments and, thus, from the adopted temporal and spatial collocation criteria. The analysis is performed on the data acquired between 2005 and 2012. Inter-comparison results will be discussed in detail.
